December is Here

ECS Family,       This week in PE, we began our preparation for the Presidential Physical Fitness in May.  We learned and practiced sit-ups, the shuttle run, and push ups.  I saw many examples of great effort, sportsmanship, and encouragement during the practice testing.  I look forward to seeing how each student progresses as both an athlete and teammate over the next few months. *November PE Students of the Month* Kindergarten   -  Jack 1st Grade   -  Piper  2nd Grade   -  Nicholas 3rd Grade   -  Hollyn 4th Grade   -  Bodie 5th Grade   -  Abby E. 6th Grade   -  Taylor 7th Grade   -  Miriam              Thank you again for your continual support and your dedication to the development of each student.  Our staff understands that each student matters and we are committed to preparing each student for their next step in both the classroom and in their lives outside of school.       Let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding PE or your student.  I am happy

Week 5

ECS Family,       We enjoyed another great week of PE at ECS!  The weather kept us inside for the week, but we were able to play some great indoor games.  Some of the games played this week were Four Corners, Red Light Green Light, Ultimate Ball, Sprout Ball, and Dodgeball.        During the games, I saw many examples of great sportsmanship, encouragement, and teamwork.  We discussed why sportsmanship is important and how it sets the stage for a fun environment for the entire class.  Sportsmanship will be a major topic this year, as it relates to PE, sports, and the rest of life.       Thank you again for your continual support and your dedication to the development of each student.  Our staff understands that each student matters and we are committed to preparing each student for their next step.       Let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding PE or your student.  I am happy to help in any way I can. *September PE Students of the Month* Kindergarten   -  Z

Hi, my name is Mr. Gudbranson (Good-bran-son). I am very excited to be the new P.E. teacher at Evergreen Christian School and look forward to spending time with all the students, staff, and parents. I was born and raised in Olympia and am a proud graduate of Evergreen Christian School (Class of 2008). Throughout my life, I have developed a huge passion for sports and physical fitness.  My passion for sports and fitness is a result of my upbringing.  From early on, I always enjoyed playing baseball and football in the backyard with my brother and cousin.  My parents were certain from a young age that I would have an interest in sports and fitness.  In fact, my first words were "ball" and "hat". Playing, teaching, and coaching sports and fitness has helped me learn the importance of community, commitment, and teamwork.  Through all of my training in sports and ecucation, my coaches and teachers helped mold me into the person I am today. I am grateful fo
